PEACE, BE STILL.

“Peace, be still.”

The storm had been loud.

The wind had been relentless.
The waves had been filling the boat.
And then Jesus spoke.

Peace, be still.

Peace, Be Still was created not to capture the storm itself, but the moments just after it.

The clouds haven't disappeared yet. The water still carries the evidence of what just passed through. Everything isn't suddenly bright and beautiful.

But something has changed.

The storm no longer has the final word.

Inspired by Mark 4:39, this piece is a reminder of the authority of Jesus over the things that feel completely outside of ours. The disciples couldn't calm the sea. They couldn't control the wind.

But they were in the boat with Someone who could.

With its dark ocean, heavy clouds, rocky shoreline, muted blue-gray tones and a thin break of warm light along the horizon, this piece was designed to feel like the five minutes after a storm has passed.
